As part of Autism Awareness Week, the Museum invites families with children on the autistic spectrum to join us for art workshops led by Sibylle Janert from Mind Builders and live inclusive storytelling with Bag Books.
Everyday Sensory Play Activities with Mind Builders
12.00, 13.30 and 15.00Many children with an autism diagnosis find it difficult to play or to occupy themselves purposefully. In this workshops, Mind Builders will show parents some simple sensory and developmental play activities that children will love.
45 minutes / For ages 3+
Storytelling with Bag Books
12.30, 14.00 and 15.15
Bag Books is a UK-wide charity providing tactile and multi-sensory books to people with learning disabilities. Here a trained storyteller will lead sessions using specially designed multi-sensory books.
40 minutes / 12.30 and 14.00 sessions for ages 6+, 15.15 session for ages 10-14
